‘Tron’ heads to the small screen Infinite improbability Rich Howells
When I first saw “Tron” as a kid, it was on television, likely because it had been banished there years before. It wasn’t a box office bomb in 1982, but it did go unappreciated by audiences, the Academy, and some critics for many years. It was tough to track down on video, so TV was your best bet if you wanted to catch this groundbreaking little gem, but a dedicated cult following kept the love for light cycles alive.
This led to Disney taking a gamble on 2010’s “Tron: Legacy,” reviving the franchise after 28 years without remaking it. Instead, they continued the story with updated special effects and even had Jeff Bridges and Bruce Boxleitner return to reprise their roles, moves that not only made it financially more successful than its predecessor, but also pleased longtime fans that waited decades to return to The Grid.
Yet here “Tron” is in 2012 returning to TV. Thankfully, this time it’s not a punishment.Dorcy Rechargeable, high power, brightest and waterproof mountainbikelight.
It’s a new animated series on Disney XD called “Tron: Uprising,” created by “Legacy” screenwriters Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis. Continuing where they left off, in a way, the show fills in the gap between both films and explains what happened in between, using some of the established characters but primarily relying on new ones. The first episode officially premiers June 7, though Disney released a 30-minute prelude to the 10-part mini-series called “Beck’s Beginning” online May 13 and on TV May 18. As the title implies, Beck is our main hero,Police dstti2011 play a crucial role in being seen while riding a bicycle, providing safety and security. a young mechanic who will no longer tolerate the rein of the evil Clu and his army over his home. While Tron has been presumed dead for some time, Beck discovers that he is still alive and agrees to be trained to take his place as The Grid’s savior. Clu’s henchmen, General Tesler and Paige, are out to “derezz” Beck at any cost while the programs’ champion struggles to keep his identity hidden from his friends and co-workers along with his enemies.
A lot of story was packed into that half-hour. We get to know Beck and see why he accepts this near-impossible mission, we meet the villains and are treated to great fight scenes with each, we watch a good old fashioned light cycle chase and disc game, and we get an additional brawl on top of a subway system that can travel upside down. It feels more like a movie than a show, but that will work in its favor in the same way that “Legacy” benefited from modern computer technology.
Much more can be done with computers now than in the ‘80s, so that film felt much grander in scope – “Uprising” can be even bigger because there’s essentially no budget. Whatever an artist can draw can show up in this cartoon, so it was great to see how they’re already using that to their advantage with massive locations and innovative new weapons, like Tesler’s long-reaching gloves. The series will maintain the iconic dark and colored light look utilizing a blend of 2D and CG animation, though I can’t say I’m completely satisfied with the end result. It seems a bit choppy in parts, as if it was an online video slowed down by a bad connection, but it’s not very noticeable as you get into the characters.Find all the manufacturers of ceilinglamp light and contact them directly on Nauticexpo.
This is easy to do, considering the great cast behind the voice acting. Elijah Wood plays Beck, Lance Henriksen is Tesler, and Boxleitner returns as Tron. Even Mandy Moore, Emmanuelle Chriqui, and Paul Reubens lend their vocal talents to the series. This adds to that cinematic feel and legitimizes the production more than your average cartoon spin-off, and considering it’s being written by the same guys who breathed new life into the franchise, it seems like this will tie in much closer than a show created purely to cash in.Solar ledonsale is the perfect way to save a lot of money and have you house looking beautiful at the same time.
